July's Super Moon Tonight!

Keep your eyes on the sky tonight because there is another chance to spot the Super Moon! This is 2013's third perigee full moon. For those of you that may have missed the previous moon, not to worry. Appearing even bigger, the prime time to catch this lunar light show will be right before dawn. At this point the moon will be the closest to the earth. Not looking forward to getting up before the alarm clock? Enjoy the glow of the moonlight this evening with a celestial cocktail. Maybe a Blue Moon-rita? A Man in the Moon champagne cocktail? Or just some good ol' moonshine? Follow the Happy Hour board by clicking the link below. Cheers & may all your skies be cloudless!!!

Duct Tape Laundry Basket

Here is a fun and super easy project that is perfect for personalizing your laundry basket. With a vibrant color basket and so many rolls of tape to choose from, the possibilities are endless! These decorated baskets are great for toy storage too. Dorm dwellers and landromat hoppers won't have any trouble spotting their baskets in the mix! Use zebra tape on a hot pink basket for the diva in your life. Throw tie dye tape on to encourage that one hippie you know to wash his clothes. Fill it with  detergent, dryer sheets, and a pack of hangers for a housewarming gift. Grab a roll of printed duct tape and customize by making a trim around entire rim including handles. DO NOT use on rubber grip handles! Cheap standard baskets work best. Please share your duct tape basket with the blog!

Patriotic Potato Chip Cookies

Since my college days, I have been trying to perfect the recipe for these crowds pleasing cookies. To the eye, they are nothing more than a homemade Rainbow Chip Deluxe, but do not be fooled! The toasty crunchy outside surrounds a moist and fluffy cookie center with a melt in your mouth buttery finish. A favorite with the guys, my Patriotic Potato Chip Cookies are great treat for Father's Day too!

Patriotic Potato Chip Cookies
Makes 2 1⁄2 dozen cookies
Prep: 10 minutes, Bake: 18 minutes, Cool: 15 minutes

1 (18.25-ounce) box white cake mix with pudding
1⁄2 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 tbsp Vanilla extract
1 cup red, & blue M&M’S®
1 overflowing cup potato chips

DIRECTIONS-

1. Preheat oven to 350°. Prepare bake sheets w/ nonstick cooking spray.
2. Mix in a large bowl: cake mix, butter, vanilla, and eggs. Beat at medium speed with an electric mixer for 2 minutes, or until well blended. Stir in candies and potato chips. Try not to crush chips up too much, you want a little crunch!
3. Roll by hand into walnut-size balls, and place 2 inches apart on sheets.
4. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Let sit for 2 minutes before moving to wire racks to cool.
